About the University Staff Senate
The Staff Senate is an advisory body to the president of the university. The senate’s function is to advocate for policies and procedures that are supportive of and favorable to the staff, and is to assist the university president in matters that the senate and/or the university president deems appropriate concerning the general welfare and working conditions of the staff and in matters concerning the entire university. Mission
• Support the University’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.
• Serve as a recognized part of the University governance system and provide a voice for staff within that system.
• Enhance and further University-wide internal communications.
• Assist in developing and promoting staff development programs.
• Recognize staff for their commitment to excellence in service.
• Create and nurture a spirit of unity and collegiality among all employees at the University.
